Training is a crucial factor in staff performance in France and elsewhere and boosts career development. Training includes apprenticeship programmes to help young people obtain professional qualifications in line with the Group's recruitment needs.
Each business is responsible for its own training programmes to meet its specific requirements. In 2008, the Group devoted 4,5% of its total payroll to training.
Training examples within the Group:
- At Bouygues Telecom, sales representatives and sales advisors follow three to eight weeks of work/study training to learn about company values, products, sales techniques, and loyalty-building.
- At Bouygues Immobilier, the Passport for Operational Status gives new employees an overview of property development.
- Young managers follow a four week training course at Colas University (road-building culture, market law).
- Bouygues Bâtiment International organises one-week residential courses (including accommodation) in French and English for non-managerial and managerial staff from all countries. The courses cover a range of topics including corporate strategy and working methods in a multicultural environment.
- Bouygues Construction University
In October 2008, Bouygues Construction inaugurated Bouygues Construction University.
This university constitutes a learning space where talents can be developed, know-how enhanced, and cohesion and cooperation strengthened.
